4 Million Smiles exceeds expectations

Philanthropy, Charity and Volunteering Social Media

On September 7, 2016, the Align Global Marketing team launched the 4 Million Smiles campaign to celebrate the 4 millionth Invisalign patient and the 4 million Invisalign smiles around the world.


With dedicated web pages, social media outreach, video content and other advertising, the team spread the word about this incredible milestone. Align employees and the general public were encouraged to share a photo of a smile and the #4millionsmiles hashtag to support Operation Smile, a global non-profit organization that provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. The campaign has received incredible support from Align employees, customers, consumers and media influencers. It is one of the most successful social media campaigns conducted by Align, resulting in high exposure and reach. Within just 30 days (September 7 through World Smile Day on October 7), the #4millionsmiles hashtag was shared 5,880 times; seen 51.7 million times across social platforms; and liked, shared or commented on 611,018 times.
