A-dec's revolutionary LED operatory light has won two major industry awards following its recent release onto the international dental market.
The A-dec LED operatory light has won the prestigious 2012 Silver International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for Medical & Scientific Products from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
Plus, it has also been awarded 'Best New Product for Women' by the American Association of Women Dentists in recognition of its outstanding ergonomics and superior illumination which reduces eye-strain.
President of the American Association of Women Dentists, Dr Jennifer Cornell, said: "this light will transform the treatment room and make our jobs as dentists much easier. The light promotes less eye-strain, better patient view and it is easy to move. I think this is a great product".
A-dec Australia Product Manager, Leni Vilivili, said the unique design of the A-dec LED operatory light reduced eye fatigue through its "stadium effect" which mitigates shadows and maintains a uniform light pattern.
He added that its intuitive, unencumbered controls, unparalleled positioning ability and fluid movement combined to create outstanding ergonomics.
"A-dec's advanced light emitting diode (LED) technology has been optically engineered specifically for dentists and the dental operatory. Designed for optimal visual acuity and treatment-room ergonomics, the A-dec LED is an outstanding solution that outperforms all other industry options.
"By evolving LED technology, we've established a new benchmark for operatory lighting to provide the best illumination, clarity and depth of view during treatment," Mr Vilivili said.
The A-dec LED operatory light can be fitted to most A-dec dental units and is available from A-dec dealers throughout Australia.
