ADX16 ends on high note

Events

Cloudy skies and occasional heavy downpours failed to dampen enthusiasm at ADX16 in Sydney in March, which has been hailed a great success by organisers, exhibitors and visitors alike.

ADX16 marked the swansong event at the temporary Glebe Island Exhibition Centre in Sydney Harbour which will be replaced by the $1 billion International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour in late 2016.

Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) Exhibition Chairman and A-dec Marketing Manager, Simon Taggart, said ADX remained Australia's largest dental exhibition and lived up to its slogan of "see more, buy more and learn more".

As the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of quality dental products and the organisers of ADX16 Sydney, the ADIA was at the forefront of efforts to combine an industry exhibition and continuing professional development opportunities. The event was marked by a well-attended professional development program led by leading local and international speakers catering for dental practitioners and allied oral healthcare professionals.

This was evidenced by the strong support for the seminars, including those earning Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for attendees. This year the ADIA donated proceeds of paid CPD courses to the National Dental Foundation (NDF) to support volunteer dentists providing dental services to those in greatest need.

For others, the major highlight was the massive display by some 140 exhibitors representing manufacturers, suppliers, surgery design and construction companies, finance, software, information technology and other professional services.

Mr Taggart said that although exhibition attendance numbers were slightly down on the 2014 event, the level of enquiry at the trade stands was well up, resulting in a very successful show.

"The foot traffic was strong throughout the three days and particularly busy at times, with lots of genuine enquiries for the equipment and services on display.

"Based on the number of leads, this was one of the most successful events to date and augurs well for the next ADX to be held in the highly anticipated new International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour in 2018," Mr Taggart said.
