Align Technology, inventors of Invisalign®, recently hosted the inaugural 2014 Invisalign APAC Summit. Over 400 delegates including orthodontists, dentists and their clinical, administrative and marketing staff from the Asia-Pacific gathered at the two-day conference held June 26-27, 2014 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Casino complex in Singapore.
Themed "NextGen Now" the conference focused on the evolution of Invisalign innovations. The program included presentations on the development and advancement of the Invisalign System over the last decade, with particular focus on Invisalign G5 - the new comprehensive set of features for more predictable treatment of deep bite cases. Align invited experienced Invisalign Providers from around the world including Australians John Brabant, Eugene Chan, Grant Duncan, Morris Rapaport, David Penn, Vicki Vlaskalic and Tony Weir to share treatment experiences, clinical techniques, research results and best practices. Conference topics included Class II/III Treatment Strategies; Teen treatments; Therapeutic Diagnosis and Extraction/non-Extraction treatments; Planning for Transverse Corrections; and Invisalign treatment with Carriere® Distiliser and TADs.
The program also included peer-to-peer ClinCheck® treatment plan reviews and round-table treatment sessions, plus workshops on practice development for creating consumer awareness, educating patients and developing and implementing strategic marketing plans.
The overall goals of the Invisalign Summit program are to educate, motivate and show appreciation with accolades for Align's most experienced and enthusiastic customers. Going forward, Align aims to host APAC Invisalign Summits biennially, with the next event scheduled for 2016.
