Align Technology reaches 2 million Invisalign patients

Celebrations and milestones Orthodontics

Align Technology, manufacturers of Invisalign, has reached a milestone of 2 million Invisalign patients treated; paving the way for future growth and acceptance of Invisalign as a tried and trusted orthodontic treatment modality.

Since its inception in 1999, more than 2 million Invisalign patients worldwide have chosen Invisalign as their preferred orthodontic treatment option. More than 103 million unique aligners have been manufactured and 74,720 Invisalign doctors trained - cementing Invisalign's place as the worldwide leader in clear aligner therapy.

Given the vast majority of patients are adults aged 18 and over, these figures help to confirm that teeth-straightening is no longer reserved for teenagers; in fact, a third of Australian adults report they are concerned about the straightness of their teeth - representing an unprecedented level of demand and opportunity for dental professionals.

Mark Van Weelde, Managing Director, Invisalign Australia said; "In Australia, Invisalign treatment submissions are up 30% in 2012 and we expect this strong growth to continue into the new year. The Invisalign brand is now widely recognised amongst consumers and we invest heavily in national PR and marketing initiatives to raise awareness about the power of a smile".

"We are also committed to enhancing the experience and improving the clinical confidence of our doctors through customer facing systems and programs, clinical education and customer and sales support. We believe our comprehensive business strategies which focus on both the consumer and the practitioner will ensure the business continues to hold its place as the market leader in clear aligner therapy."

Invisalign is sold in over 45 countries worldwide including the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific.
