Dental implant manufacturer, BioHorizons, will stage its Asia Pacific Symposium Series 2014 in Sydney from August 14-16 at the Four Seasons Hotel in George Street with internationals including Edward P. Allen, Dennis Tarnow and Lewis Cummings headlining the program.
The 3-day congress will address current trends in implant dentistry and tissue grafting including full day workshops. A combination of local and international speakers will present a range of topics from advanced grafting techniques to immediate restoration considerations. Participants will learn how to attain aesthetic results in the anterior region as well as methods for managing
challenging cases.
Dr Allen will also present a 2-day Pre-symposium workshop in Sydney commencing on Wednesday, August 13 and concluding the following day, titled Minimally Invasive Soft Tissue Grafting for Teeth & Implants. The same program is also being held in Melbourne the week before (August 9-10).
This updated workshop focuses on the use of accelular dermal matrix (AlloDerm) for treatment of root exposure and soft tissue problems around implants. Participants will learn the 10 keys for successful soft tissue surgery; minimally invasive surgical techniques; microsurgical instrumentation and specialised suturing techniques; management of soft tissue deficiencies at implant sites; interdisciplinary management of non-carious cervical lesions; rationale and technique for using PRP (platelet rich plasma); management of complications; and current clinical research findings.
Hands-on exercises on new models with implants and illustrated step-by-step procedural manuals will enhance participant's ability to immediately incorporate these procedures into practice.
In addition, Dr Lewis Cummings will present a 1-day Pre-symposium workshop commencing on Thursday, August 14 titled TeethXpress®: An optimal immediate load/function treatment solution for fully edentulous patients.
The main symposium program commences on Friday, August 15 with Dr Tarnow kiciing it off with Immediate vs delayed socket management (what we know, what we think we know & what we don't know); whilst on Saturday, he presents The interdental papilla between teeth and implants - Where are we today? Between teeth, between implants & teeth between two implants. Drs Allen, Tarnow and Cummings are joined on the main program by Drs Scott Davis, Tony Strangio, Misagh Habibi and Udatta Kher.
