CEREC SpeedFire sintering furnace honored with iF Design Award

The CEREC SpeedFire received the globally respected prize for product design in the category "Medicine, Health & Care," and thus takes its place on a lengthening list of prize-winning products from the largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies in the world.

In recent years, the iF Design Award was conferred by the Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH on the Orthophos SL X-ray system, the SiroLaser Blue as well as the CEREC Omnicam and the CEREC AF system. This year it was the CEREC SpeedFire that impressed the 58-member jury with its clear, thoroughly considered layout and the outstanding quality of its product and processing, emerging triumphant in a category that attracted 5,500 entrants from 59 countries. The oldest independent design organization in Germany has presented the iF Design Award every year since 1954 for outstanding achievements in product design. The awards ceremony was held on March 10 at BMW Welt in Munich.

Second award for the fastest sintering furnace in the world

The induction technology at the heart of the CEREC SpeedFire can sinter zirconium oxide restorations in less than 15 minutes. The world's smallest and fastest sintering furnace combines sintering and finishing (glazing) processes, the only machine of its kind on the market. Both processes take just a few minutes, e.g. a crown can be sintered in 10-15 minutes and glazed in nine minutes. At the same time, modern software makes the device extremely user-friendly; there is no need for special training courses or orientation phases. "The fact that one of our products has won two design prizes is a marvelous tribute to its exceptional functional, visual and ergonomic conception," said Holger Emmert, Director Marketing CEREC at Dentsply Sirona CAD/CAM. "And the CEREC SpeedFire has also been very enthusiastically received by our customers." The CEREC SpeedFire also won another international design competition last year, as it was honored with the similarly prestigious Red Dot Award in the category "Life Science and Medicine."
