CEREC has been assisting dentists in a number of indications for decades and has become indispensable in everyday practice routines. In addition to its ease of use and high predictability of results, the system offers superior quality on a digital level.
CEREC can be used in a wide range of practice applications. The system allows dentists to provide their patients with full ceramic restorations in a single visit. Furthermore, integrated implantology can be implemented with CEREC. This includes the possibility of producing a surgical guide in-house to be used for implant insertion. Last but not least, CEREC can also be used to create impressions for orthodontic indications – for optimal treatment comfort and a quicker start for treatment.
Dentsply Sirona invites all trade fair visitors to familiarize themselves with this proven process and its versatility at the IDS and to discover how the system can be used to meet their individual needs.
Experience CEREC live
Dentsply Sirona is a merged company and is now represented in two halls at the trade show. Visitors can therefore experience up close in halls 10.2 and 11.2 how the CEREC system has further developed. Visitors can view on two stages around 20 live treatments on patients every day during the entire trade show. These demonstrations will illustrate just how versatile CEREC is and how different materials are suitable for various indications. Experienced CEREC users will provide live, in-depth insight into the technology and demonstrate in live treatments how, for example, with CEREC, the chairside production of restorations, implant treatments and processing of the extremely durable material of zirconia can be integrated into the practice workflow.
The focus will be on the latest innovation – CEREC Zirconia. In this workflow, which also includes the new CEREC SpeedFire sintering furnace, full-contour zirconia restorations can be produced in a single visit. This material has been proven in particular for indications in the posterior tooth and molar regions as well as where there is limited space, since zirconia can be milled to very thin wall thicknesses. According to a current study conducted by AG Keramik, Dentsply Sirona meets the needs of all practices thanks to its use of zirconia. In comparison to 2015, more and more dentists use the new material for restorations due to its impressive hardness and biocompatibility. Furthermore, preparations for this restoration can preserve tooth substance. With the number of posterior tooth crowns unchanged from 2015 to 2016, the use of zirconia increased by approximately 10 percent in 2016. Today, 18 percent of all restorations are already made from full-contour zirconia.
Exciting live demos will also take place for those interested in implantology. Hall 11.2 will show what CEREC can do today. Dentsply Sirona will show the prosthetic restoration of a Dentsply Sirona implant with an abutment crown made from full-contour zirconia and will also address other implantology topics.
Individual advice at the IDS
Following a live treatment on the stage, visitors can get involved at more than 30 stations and produce their own crown to take home. They will be assisted by experienced dentists and CAD/CAM experts, who will be available for questions related to product integration in the practice, clinical issues and cost-effectiveness. Visitors can also have an individual cost-effectiveness calculation prepared at the trade show.
Dentists who already successfully use CEREC in their practice will also benefit from the CEREC experience at IDS. They can share their professional experiences and have more in-depth discussions in the expert area. Experienced users and product experts from Dentsply Sirona will be on hand to answer any questions, such as detailed software questions.
