In an extensive observational study, over 1,100 dentists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland tested the new, universal nanohybrid composite, Venus Diamond. According to the preliminary results of the study, 95% of the dentists assessed the new filling material overall as acceptable to very acceptable and 91% would recommend it to their colleagues.
The new, universal nanohybrid was launched on the market in the middle of January 2009 to the European market. Since that time, more than 42,000 cavities have been filled with Venus Diamond as part of the European study. The new universal composite is suitable for both complex and less complicated restorations. The fillings assessed were placed in Class I to V cavities.
Following initial assessment of the observational study, the majority of Venus Diamond users were very satisfied with the new universal composite. They praised in particular the excellent polishing properties (99%) and the perfect shade matching (98%).
With its diamond formula, i.e. a patented matrix and completely newly developed nanohybrid filler system, Venus Diamond combines the properties of unprecedented improvements in aesthetics and durability with a simple technique. It exhibits only minimal shrinkage and produces a very smooth surface. Approximately 94% of dentists confirmed that it is good to very good in adaptation to the cavity walls.
The new filling material also has a firm consistency and a long, practical working time under the treatment lamp. It does not adhere to instruments and can be easily and efficiently prepared. This was also confirmed by 97% of the participants in the observational study.
According to initial results, a total of 91% of the participating dentists would recommend Venus Diamond to their colleagues.
