Henry Schein Halas has opened it's new Victorian headquarters located in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, 10 minutes from the CBD. The facility combines a showroom, training facilities and accommodation for the company's Victorian sales, marketing and administration team.
"Part of our strategic plan for the future is investing in state-based offices that incorporate showrooms and training facilities that will be interactive for the dental community," said Mike Covey, Managing Director of Henry Schein Halas. "We have an extensive range of products and materials, particularly dental equipment and we want to allow our customers easy access to be able to come and see these products in a practical, didactic manner.
"Dentistry is also rapidly moving into the digital age and many of the solutions we offer in terms of intraoral scanning, 3D radiography and CAD/CAM are perceived as complex and out of reach to many practitioners. So in order to help our customers transition to this exciting next generation of dentistry, we need to be able to demonstrate it to help educate practitioners.
"Our new facility in Victoria includes the best dental equipment available today in operational set-ups that allow dentists to experience using the products first hand. On-site facilities also allow us to conduct education and training programs to support our customers in all aspects of their practices."
The new Henry Schein Halas Victorian HQ is home to a staff of 40 and features:
- A large range of dental units from leading brands including KaVo,
Planmeca and Morita;
- Imaging systems including intra oral x-rays units, PSP scanners, OPGs and CBCT units from leading manufacturers;
- A sterilisation room setup with "best-practice" workflow;
- 3 x fully equipped dental surgeries;
- CAD/CAM systems including intra oral 3D scanners, lab scanners and mills;and
- A training room.
"We're planning on upgrading all our facilities around Australia in due course," Mr Covey said. "Melbourne is the first of our offices to be upgraded and the move to a new facility in Brisbane will also occur during this year.
"In Sydney, we have relocated our main distribution centre to Eastern Creek, close to where the new Sydney airport will be built. We will also have a new showroom, training, sales and administration facility, closer to the city, where we will relocate to from our current base in Waterloo.
"We're moving philosophically from being a distributor of products to becoming a true business partner for the dental professional. Having facilities in each state that support this move will give us the resources to enable us to help our customers to a far greater extent. Our 'Rely on Us' branding recognises that dental practitioners need more than just products, they need support at many levels in their professional lives."
