The Organizing Committee of the IFEA Sixth Endodontic World Congress extends a warm welcome to participate in its highly informative and inspirational meeting to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, September 8-11, 2004.
The Congress is jointly sponsored by the International Federation of Endodontic Associations and the Australian Society of Endodontology. Endodontic World Congresses are only held every three years and this is the first time such a Congress has been held in the southern hemisphere. It could be the only time such a Congress is held in Australia in your lifetime!
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is a short walk or ferry ride from the Brisbane CBD and the four star Rydges South Bank Hotel, situated adjacent to the Convention Centre, is the official Congress hotel. Brisbane of course boasts a wide range of excellent accommodation, ranging from five star to family apartments, all in close proximity to the Congress venue. A number of these have been block booked for the event.
The Scientific Committee has drawn together a pre-eminent and world-class group of keynote speakers including:
- Professor Paul Abbott (Australia);
- Dr Stephen Buchanan (USA);
- Professor Gunnar Bergenholtz (Sweden);
- Professor Ken Hargreaves (USA);
- Professor Markus Haapasalo (Norway);
- Professor Harold Messer (Australia); and
- Professor Hideaki Suda (Japan).
This team, together with each member country representative speaker, plus free paper and poster presenters, will undoubtedly enthuse and stimulate. Add to this an exciting social programme and your visit will be most memorable.
There is also a Pre-Congress meeting in Port Douglas prior to the World Congress. The Fourth Trans-Pacific Endodontic Congress - Broaden Your Scope in Paradise - will be held over September 4-5, 2004. TPEC boasts an interesting scientific programme against the backdrop of the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical rainforest.
Brisbane is an exciting destination situated only an hour's drive from some of the world's best surf beaches. It boasts numerous world-class golf courses and other sporting facilities, excellent restaurants, fabulous shopping and tranquil river walks. Spring is one of the most delightful times to explore and visit the city. Another option is to complete your visit with a stay on the Gold Coast and join the Queensland ADA for its annual Convention.
