A new facility designed and furnished solely for the purpose of stating dental education programmes will open in Sydney in March 2005.
The Dental Education Centre (DEC), as it will be known, is being setup to lure dental companies away from venues such as hotels which may not always be appropriate for delivering dental education.
For the convenience of interstate travellers, the centre has been located next to the airport and will draw on permanently discounted rates and the shuttle bus service of the airport Holiday Inn. Levitch Design is responsible for the attractive and highly functional interior with Critical Dental and A-Dec being amongst the sponsors providing dental equipment.
The ground floor of the centre will be the lecture hall, which will incorporate the latest in AV technology. A real time camera feed from the dental chair will also be available.
Delegates will also benefit from comfortable, high quality leather director chairs and their own personal workstation. Power supplies and wireless Internet facilities will allow delegates to use their laptops with ease and stay in touch with their practices.
The first floor of the building is dedicated to a completely functional surgery set-up, designed and built around permanent and perfectly positioned camera equipment.
The second floor is dedicated to catering with fully equipped kitchen facilities, a dining area and a beautiful deck overlooking the Sydney skyline which will be ideal for end of course cocktail parties. The DEC has been designed in such a way that there will be no need to leave the building whilst on a course.
Integrated Dental Marketing have been employed to manage the promotion of the centre and the individuals and groups putting on seminars will have access to full seminar marketing facilities, should they desire.
Advertising services and marketing services including brochures, direct mail and telemarketing facilities will be available on request. The centre will be launched with a two-day event called Dental 2005 and has already attracted permanent contracts with EODO, CDA Seminars and NAOL. The DEC will be a world-class facility, supporting continuing education in Australia and providing much needed independent facilities for all.
