Melbourne-based Dental & Medical Diagnostic Imaging (DMDI) has established a new diagnostic imaging centre of excellence on Toorak Road, Camberwell. Utilizing the latest 3D cone beam imaging technology, the centre will provide dentists with highly accurate radiographic imagery to aid in the treatment planning process.
"For the first time, a fully certified and accredited head and neck specialist centre can supply immediate diagnostic information to a referring dentist that is second to none, said DMDI principal Pamela Gilbert. "This centre is the first to specialize in the needs of the dental profession and the choice of technology has resulted in patients being exposed to low levels of radiation while still obtaining fast, accurate and clear images. The referrer also receives specialist reporting tailored to dental requirements."
The DMDI 3D imaging centre uses the latest Morita 3De OPG and the unique A170 Accuitomo CT.
"These are the only units of their kind in Australia at present that have the ability to offer reports to ensure accurate diagnostic outcomes," Ms Gilbert said. "With the introduction of Dolphin software, accurate palatal and volumetric analysis of the nose and throat area will revolutionise the way a dentist will design snoring devices, treat sleep disturbances and prepare orthodontic appliances as well as mandibular nerve tracing.
"Now is the time to move forward and take advantage of a centre that is designed for Dentists and those involved in head and neck work. This is a must for implants and any creative restructuring of the mouth. You have the opportunity to take advantage of a state of the art facility using the latest, highly sophisticated, equipment that will deliver to you diagnostic images previously not possible in Australia.
"The clarity of image and the investigative ability of this 3D technology are second to none. This is a specialised 3D digital centre that is classified as 'A Centre of Excellence', fully licensed and accredited."
