Philips Oral Health Care has expanded the appeal and applications of its flagship Philips Sonicare power toothbrush with the addition of new AdaptiveClean brush heads.
"The new Philips Sonicare AdaptiveClean is our first brush head with soft, flexible sides," said Dr Marilyn Ward, Philips Oral Health Care Global Director of Clinical Dental Scientific Affairs and a practising clinician in Houston, Texas.
"This AdaptiveClean technology features a new type of hexagonal, anchor-free tufting with more bristles per tuft, which results in an increased plaque removal performance."
The flexible sides of the AdaptiveClean brush head also allows the bristle field to move farther across the tooth, increasing the sweep of the brush and making it more efficient.
"At the recent research meeting in San Francisco, we presented four papers on the AdaptiveClean brush head compared to manual brushes and so far it's our best performing brush head in plaque removal, gingivitis reduction and bleeding points. We have slow motion videos on our website that show how these bristle fields move - and with the increased sweeping motion, we've had great consumer feedback about the comfort."
Dr Ward said that Adaptive Clean fits on any current Philips Sonicare handle and also features indicator bristles to tell you when to replace the brush head.
