1,816 manufacturers from 53 different countries - that was the level of competition which the inEos X5 from Sirona faced in this year's Red Dot Design Award competition. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, the initiator of the Red Dot Award and Director of the Design Museum in Essen, stressed that "given the high quality of the submissions, it was not easy for the experts on the jury to reach a decision. Only the very best products were presented with the coveted award for design excellence." Following a comprehensive assessment procedure, which lasted several days, the 40-strong jury concluded that the inEos X5 was among the best products. The scanner not only impressed due to its extensive technical features but also because of its unique design.
inEos X5 - Exceptional flexibility
The CAD/CAM scanner inEos X5 allows dental technicians to digitalize models and impressions precisely and quickly. The practical (logical?) handling and simple operation make it easier for even first-time users to learn how to use the device. The large scan area and the specially developed joint arm together with the innovative 5-axis scan technology guarantee high scanning speeds and exact positioning for all digitalization tasks. To allow for the individual user's requirements and to ensure optimal working processes in the laboratory, it is possible to choose between automatic and manual scanning. The inEos X5 scans partial and whole jaw models including the palate and up to four single stumps simultaneously as well as impressions. This newly developed scan technology from Sirona, the technology leader in the dental industry, offers exceptional precision and great depth of definition and, as such, offers the ideal basis for both simple and more demanding dental work, i.e. implant-supported bridges. The open STL interface makes the inEos X5 a flexible CAD/CAM partner for every dental laboratory.
Red Dot Design Award: In search of excellence
The expert jury behind the Red Dot Design Award has been awarding outstanding designs since 1955, true to its motto: "In search of excellence." The competition is known and respected around the world and, today, is one of the largest competitions for prototypes and design concepts. The Red Dot quality seal distinguishes design innovations. Without any background information on the candidates or companies, the members of the jury evaluate the submitted products against a number of criteria: Degree of innovation, esthetic quality, potential for implementation, functionality and usefulness, emotional content and impact of the project.
