Following the success of previous programs in 2013 and 2015, the Australia and New Zealand Recent Graduates Conference 2016 is taking place again on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13 at the brand new Hilton Hotel Surfers Paradise on Queensland's Gold Coast.
"The Recent Graduates Conference is an event specifically designed to engage new dentists," said organiser Dr Jeffrey Kho. "There are several hundred dentists graduating from the nine Australian dental schools every year and this event recognizes their needs and wants.
"The dynamics of recent graduates today is completely different to even a decade ago and the program at RGC 2K16 combines appropriate education from experts with a healthy social program combining everything from yoga on the beach to a cocktail party and lots of prizes and giveaways."
Dr Kho encourages young dentists from all over Australia and New Zealand to descend upon the Gold Coast this August and participate in the diverse educational programme that includes:
- Specialist Prosthodontist, Dr Tony Rotondo, who will speak about veneers, composites and pros;
- Specialist Orthodonist, Dr Derek Mahony, presenting on snoring, sleep and the importance of the airway;
- Endodontics Troubleshooting 101 presented by Specialist Endodontist, Dr Mehdi Rahimi;
- Dr Kho, who will speak about getting out of trouble - what to do when;
- US-based, Dr Marilyn Ward, will present on the art and science of tooth whitening;
- Practice management consultant, Kathy Metaxas will explain how to understand your patient; and
- Special guest, Dr Misorang Natasha Seo, will present working outside the box.
"Well-respected leaders will share with you their secrets of success from the small stuff to the big issues - everything from start to finish," Dr Kho said. "This is the must attend event of the year for new graduates. You will walk away having had fun and thinking differently about your chosen profession."
The 2-day event is being staged at the magnificent Hilton Hotel Surfers Paradise on Queensland's Gold Coast and special accommodation packages are available.
"The past events have been wonderful experiences for delegates, though most have come from Queensland," Dr Kho said. "This year, we're really trying to spread the word across all of Australia and New Zealand about this great event we're hosting especially for new dentists whose needs are often overlooked in broader programs. If you are a new dentist, then you're welcome to attend RGC 2K16."
