Roland launches new wet and dry mills

New Products

Roland DG has launched two exciting new milling units for the dental profession, offering any-sized dental laboratory an affordable, modular pathway to digital manufacturing.

Rather than create a single mill that endeavours to cater for all materials and indications, Roland DG has developed two separate mills - the DWX-4W for wet milling and the DWX-51D for dry milling. Dental laboratories can begin, for example, with the dry mill, then add the wet mill when demand dictates; the combined purchase price of both units is typically less than a single mill that combines both wet and dry milling and allows the laboratory to simultaneously mill glass ceramic restorations and zirconia.

New DWX-4W wet mill

  • Capable of milling glass ceramics and composite resin
  • Combines 4-axis milling with simple one-button operation
  • High-performance Jaeger spindle
  • Multi pin-clamp to mill up to three different pin-type materials continuously
  • 4-station Automatic Tool Changer Colour-coded LED status lights signal machine errors and milling completion
  • Easy VPanel operation to configure settings and track milling progress
  • Connect up to four DWX devices to one computer
  • Fully integrated pump and coolant system
  • Automatic machine calibration
  • Made in Japan

The new DWX-4W is Roland DG’s first foray into wet milling to quickly and precisely cut glass ceramics and composite. The DWX-4W produces full contour crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers at high-speed with its Jaeger DentaDrive spindle and simultaneous 4-axis milling. It offers unattended milling convenience and increased efficiency with the option of loading up to three standard pin-type blocks.

The new DWX-51D is designed for effortless, precision production of dental prosthetics from copings, crowns and bridges to inlays, onlays and abutments, etc. With a host of automated features and a clean, stable work environment, the DWX-51D is the perfect solution for labs wanting to increase production or those looking to get into digital milling for the first time. Roland already has an established pedigree in the dry milling segment of the dental CAM market and the DWX-51D joins the existing stable comprising the DWX-4 and highly successful DWX-50 dry mills.
