Sirona has been awarded the coveted and internationally renowned Red Dot Award in the Communication Design category as "Best of the Best" for the new SIDEXIS 4 X-ray software.
Together with software specialist Heinrich & Reuter Solutions GmbH, Sirona has been recognized for its extensive efforts in designing the intuitive, user-friendly user interface. SIDEXIS 4 was able to prevail over nearly 7,500 submissions from 53 countries. The award will be presented at the grand Red Dot Gala on November 6th 2015 in front of approx. 1,000 guests.
SIDEXIS 4 has also been well received by the expert community. "Not just our testers were thrilled," explains Dr. Nadia Amor, Senior Product Manager Imaging Software at Sirona. "We've received feedback from many users that the entire workflow in the practice has improved with the software upgrade and that diagnosis, planning and treatment are simpler, faster and safer."
What sets the SIDEXIS 4 user interface apart is that it is based on workflows. Dentists can use it to access all pertinent patient image data. The software can handle all common image formats, including digital SLR, intraoral, panorama, and 3D X-ray images. Thus, data from previous and current imaging technologies can be called up and easily displayed and managed. SIDEXIS 4 acts as a central hub for the integration of diagnostic image data of any kind that the practice team has prepared not only during the course of the treatment, but also received from other dentists for long-term patients. The dentist can display a full overview of the patient's treatment history in a timeline. Using a digital light box, the dentist can easily make cross-comparisons between the image data and recognize subtle changes in the course of treatment. The numerous interfaces make it possible to connect to all digital systems in the dental practice. The imaging software can also be extended with plug-ins and applications to enable perfect coordination with integrated digital processes for simultaneous surgical and prosthetic planning of implants, and for orthodontic applications.
