Materialise Dental has launched Simplant GO, a new, cost-effective introduction to the world of Simplant that offers clinicians the opportunity to take advantage of its digital treatment planning solutions and surgical guide production platform.
Simplant GO is particulary well suited to edentulous treatment situations ranging from single to multiple implants and is a compliment to Simplant Pro. The core difference between the two is that Simplant GO offers a straightforward solution to implant placement, missing only the prosthetic flexibility supported by its bigger brother, Simplant Pro.
Simplant GO is further optimised for tooth-based guides. By incorporating local lab-based scanning of dental models which provide the fitting surface for the guide into the 3D treatment plan, any prosthetic considerations which are needed can be included. Original diagnostic data, either through the use of a radiopaque scan prosthesis or alternatively, via the modification of the dental model with the inclusion of missing teeth, can be used to generate a diagnostic tooth setup to allow valuable input from all parts of the dental team, thus ensuring that the end goal treatment plan is maintained.
The Simplant GO interface is developed utilising recent advances in latest generation Intel core processor technology and processing power. This has resulted in the delivery of seamless 3D simulations which are intuitive and easy to work with, offering a superior planning and consultation tool within the practice that is both clinician and patient friendly.
Simplant GO is designed to cater to the varied implant demands within a practice. On request, patient specific data is utilised to assemble an interactive 3D simulation which is the basis for implant and treatment planning. This tool serves multiple purposes such as diagnosis and treatment planning as well as functioning as a communication platform. Recent research has demonstrated that patient comprehension and treatment consent is also elevated due to the visual impact and understanding of treatment provided by this tool.
To ensure that patient information is converted in a safe, qualified manner, SimPlant in Belgium provides data conversion and also identifies objects such as teeth and root nerves and sinuses are outlined for your convenience and efficient planning.
Once planning has been completed and both patient and clinician have agreed on the prospective treatment path, manufacture of a guide is provisioned with one click which relates the orientation and the position of the implant in 3-dimensions to deliver the perfect aesthetic outcome for every situation.
It is important to note this is not a replacement for surgical experience. The Simplant environment represents improved predictability for implant placement and more efficient use of clinical time - allowing treatment planning with improved accuracy within minutes. This provides better workflows and optimises time available for more demanding situations.
