Sirona manufactured its 30,000th C8 treatment center earlier this year at its Bensheim factory in Germany. The unit was delivered to one of eleven ARRAIL clinics in China, currently the world's fastest growing market. ARRAIL has clinics in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen and currently has more than 90 C8+ treatment centers on order. The highly successful C8 model has been on the market since 1998 and is sold to customers around the world. After a complete facelift in 2003, the treatment center was given a whole range of new functions as well as a new name, becoming the C8+.
The C8/C8+ treatment center won over customers right from the start with its simple operation, reliability, flexibility when integrating additional functions and with the high-quality components and design elements in the Sirona C range. Its favorable price and "Made in Germany" seal of quality have guaranteed that the model has become one of the company's biggest successes. In universities around the world, thousands of C8 and C8+ centers have proven themselves tough enough to withstand the rigors of student use, for example, in Chile, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Russia.
The product was designed for the emerging Asian and Latin American markets at the end of the 1990s but has since sold very well in both Europe and the Middle East. The name was derived from the alphanumeric system used in Siemens. The number eight, however, was deliberately selected for the Asian market where it is considered to be a lucky number.
As part of the 2003 facelift, fitting and replacing instrument tubing was simplified by using quick couplings on the instrument and the scaler was equipped with a light. The "TURN version" means the treatment center is now available in two versions for right- or left-handed users. Swivel arm and cart versions of the C8+ are also available. The flexible and modular concept allows new developments such as the BL ISO brushless motor or instruments with LED lights to be integrated into the C8+. Customers around the world are convinced by the reliable technology, the timeless, attractive design, and the high quality of the C8+.
