SIROWORLD: The Dental Industry meets in Orlando

Several thousand dentists and dental technicians from home and abroad will come together at the three-day, cutting-edge dental conference, SIROWORLD by Dentsply Sirona, the market and technology leader in the dental industry.

Attendees can look forward to training sessions and talks on all aspects of digital dentistry, including CEREC, extraoral and intraoral imaging, implantology, orthodontics, endodontics, restorative, hygiene and laboratory as well as practice design and management.

Digital and integrated workflows

Michael Augins, Group Senior Vice President U.S. Commercial Organization of Dentsply Sirona, opened the event today in front of a 4,000-strong audience. "We are delighted that so many dentists, dental technicians, distributors, partners and practice teams have accepted our invitation to Orlando. Together, we can continue developing dentistry in terms of a better patient experience. Through more efficient, complete solutions, we are improving the acceptance of technologies, and in doing so, are accelerating the digitization of dentistry. Dentists, dental technicians and laboratories demand fully integrated solutions and effective, seamless workflows. Through the merger of DENTSPLY and Sirona, the new company can not only offer a wide product range, but also develop new and integrated solutions. The result is safer and more efficient workflows from diagnosis to treatment."

Among other areas, this is reflected in the integrated workflow in endodontics: The new 3D Endo software is the first CBCT-based software on the market and is used to make preliminary plans for endodontic treatments and optimize them on the basis of x-ray data from the ORTHOPHOS units. "This not only enables the dentist to better advise patients, but also naturally increases treatment effectiveness," says Dominique Legros, Group Vice President Endodontics. "It very clearly shows the potential of integrated workflows, as we already know them from dental implants in combination with CEREC and GALILEOS," explains Dr Stefan Hehn, Group Vice President Imaging Systems, Dentsply Sirona. Dentsply Sirona plans to introduce this software in the coming months upon receiving the necessary regulatory approval.

Another good example of implementing the integrated solutions concept is CEREC: This year saw the introduction of CEREC Zirconia, full contour zirconia restorations that can be easily placed in a single visit - an industry first. "We know that many dentists were waiting for the addition of full contour zirconia to the materials already available, so they can cover nearly every clinical situation with CEREC," says Roddy MacLeod, Group Vice President CAD/CAM, Dentsply Sirona. "And to be able to do it all in a single visit enhances the patient experience and delivers practice benefits too."

A completely digital workflow, from 3D analysis to preparing treatment: SICAT, a subsidiary of Dentsply Sirona, offers this with its SICAT Air software. This application allows for the first time the analysis of the upper airways in 3D volume and in doing so, the subsequent order of the OPTISLEEP therapeutic appliance for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

At SIROWORLD, Dentsply Sirona is offering talks by over 70 industry-leading dentists, dental technicians and opinion leaders from the dental world, including Todd Ehrlich, August de Oliveira, Neal Patel, Arun Garg, Michael Skramstad and Clifford Ruddle. The conference offers extensive possibilities for participants to network with colleagues.
