Perio-Analyse
Institut Clinident’s Perio-Analyse provides identification and quantification of periodontal-pathogenic species by real-time PCR and cell cultures. The colonisation of the mouth by periodontal bacteria can take place at an early age but also after dental implant installation (peri-implantitis) if the patient was not being properly treated against pathogenic bacteria or having poor oral hygiene. The list of pathogenic bacteria strains to be at high risk for rapid bone destruction and need specific treatment include Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Porphyromonas gingivalis (if present at a certain quantity). Periodontal disease antibiotic therapy has to be prescribed with a microbiological analysis to identify and quantify the exact bacteria present in the sulcus and decide the relevant antibiotic, reduce antibiotic resistance and treatment failure because each requires treatment with a different antibiotic. Perio-Analyse quantifies the presence of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans; Candida Albicans; Porphyromonas gingivalis; Tannerella forsythensis; Treponema denticola; Prevotella intermedia; Pepostreptococcus micros; Fusobacterium nucleatum; Campilobacter rectus; and Eikenella corrodens as well as total flora.
