Reso-Pac is a hydrophilic, readymade wound protection system developed by Hager & Werken in Germany that provides good adhesion to the oral cavity tissue. Unlike conventional periodontal dressings, Reso-Pac remains elastic at all times, so pressure ulcers cannot develop. Aside from a cellulose based matrix, Reso-Pac contains myrrh, which acts as an astringent and disinfectant with haemostatic characteristics. At the same time it has a pleasant taste and protects wounds from tongue movements, food and beverages, as well as from smoking/nicotine. Reso-Pac is especially user friendly as it doesn’t require removal. Instead, the material dissolves away without leaving any residues within one to three days. If medication of the wound is required, then this can also be contained within the Reso-pac system, which will further assist recovery and reduce infection.
