Paul Suni has had a long history developing sensors for other companies and has now set up his own privately owned company. Their manufacturing facility is in the heart of Silicon Valley and uniquely they manufacture their own CCD and CMOS chips. The Suniray system uses a CMOS sensor enabling it to use a slim, low power USB adapter that is built into the cord, making moving from room to room a breeze. The system can also be used with existing imaging software from most 3rd party companies allowing simple upgrade or replacement of obsolete equipment without the need to learn new software or transfer thousands of images. Mac OSX applications that that handle dental images can also be used in this way.
