Meron is a radiopaque glass ionomer luting cement which comes in capsules for direct application. This material is characterised by good rheological properties, high levels of stability and compressive strength, a low film thickness (16-20 µm), in addition to high translucency and fluoride release. The new application capsule contains significantly more material than comparable products of other manufacturers and has an additional benefit to offer. Fast and simple usage is possible without activator: position the capsule's plunger for the liquid on a firm base (e.g. a table) and press it down gently into the mixing chamber. Now place the activated capsule in a high-frequency mixer for 10 seconds, remove the capsule and open by lifting the application tip. Insert into a commercially available applicator, and the product is now ready for the indicated application.

Meron is designed for luting indirect restorations of different types: metal-based crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays, high-strength all-ceramic crowns and bridges as well as metal-based and high-strength all-ceramic crowns and bridges on implant abutments. Meron is additionally suitable for luting metal root posts and indirect metal post core build-ups, prefabricated steel crowns and orthodontic bands. The capacity of the application capsule allows even large-scale restorations to be luted in place easily and with excess material.

In its new application capsule Meron now offers a working time of around 3 minutes and a curing time of 3 to 7 minutes. This means that application and luting are completed quickly, after just 6 to 10 minutes. Any excess can be simply removed during the curing phase with a probe or scaler, and any material remaining after the removal of orthodontic bands can be taken off with an ultrasonic scaler. Thanks to Meron's high level of biocompatibility, postoperative sensitivity does not generally occur with this product.
